Before the wedding, comes the bridal shower. A chance to get together and talk wedding details, enjoy the company of friends and family and in today’s case – enjoy afternoon tea and tasty tidbits! The photos by Elizabeth Le Photography highlight the elements of this classy shower so well.
Pamela, the bride-to-be says that she wanted an alternative to the standard bridal shower events of opening gifts and playing games. Originally she planned for an outdoor get together with a Victorian feel. Think cordials and croquet – dare I say Downton Abbey?! However, that did not work out and so she turned to The Market Tea Room for her shower. (However…stay tuned for her wedding to be posted on Monday!)
Unfortunately the location where this  stylish tea luncheon bridal shower has since closed (The Market Tea Room, inside Antiques at the Market). But I loved the styling so much that I had to share this event. It’s a distinctly feminine and refined affair, with tasty sandwiches, fruity teas in fine china and lace everywhere.
The menu was pre-set and provided by the tea room. Attendees gathered over lace covered tables, sipping tea out of delicate teacups and ate with vintage silverware. Served off of classic tiered trays were classic sandwiches followed by delicious bites of scones and cake, like red velvet and carrot.
What a beautiful event, and a lovely way to thank everyone ahead of a wedding. I’m so sad the Market Tea room is no longer open. I’ve heard the owner is still doing catering, however, if you are set on having a high tea bridal shower like this one.
