Treasure Island is one of the wedding chapels on The Strip that will allow you to bring in your own photographer for wedding photos, which is exactly what Vitaliy and Anastasia did. After being together for a number of years and starting a family together, this New York-based couple but decided that a Vegas wedding would be fun, and brought along a small group of friends to their elopement.
After the ceremony, a limo transported Anastasia and Vitaliy around Las Vegas, stopping for some celebratory champagne … and vodka shots! The couple IS originally from Russia and Ukraine, after all! A relaxing “getaway” ride in a gondola at Venetian followed, then it was off to a reception dinner at the rotating restaurant on top of Stratosphere overlooking the Vegas valley lights.
McKenzi, the photographer writes:
​I kept hearing guests shouting “Горько!†[GOR’-ka] during toasts. Gorka can be translated as “bitterâ€. By shouting “Горько!†the guests are saying that the alcohol is bitter, and the couple needs to start kissing to sweeten the drinks. The couple kisses for as long as possible while the guests are counting “1, 2, 3, 4, 5….â€, if the couple doesn’t kiss for long enough, the guests might should “Горько!†again. Â
