Ah, Las Vegas. City of views. For some, nothing but a suite overlooking the iconic Bellagio fountains will do. But I think the view is better just a few blocks off the Strip from a hotel such as Hard Rock, MGM Signature or today’s feature hotel: Palms. Watching the lights flicker on as the sun goes down is an amazing sight. I’ve long been curious about the suites high in the sky at Palms with their cantilevered pools hanging off the edge so precariously. Today’s reception brings you right into those amazing SkyVillas.
Madi and Tim ditched their traditional wedding when planning got too intense. Opting for a huge suite and a small guestlist, they exchanged vows in just a few minutes at Chapel of the Flowers, barely pausing the party on the bus to do so. I love the energy these two bring and am so happy to be finally sharing their wedding. (Seriously, I’ve been putting this post off forever, I’m so excited to finally hit publish!)
And if you can’t get enough of this suite, head back in the archives for this other feature wedding in a SkyVilla.
WHY LAS VEGAS?
Originally we had a huge wedding planned at home, with a down payment on the venue and everything. It was becoming too stressful doing the guest list, seating arrangements, centerpiece designs and everything else. Vegas has always been special to my husband and I so one morning when we woke up I just asked, “Do you want to get married in Vegas?” He replied, “I thought you’d never ask!”
THE CEREMONY — CHAPEL OF THE FLOWERS
It was perfect: five minutes, in and out. We said our “I dos” and go back on the party bus.
THE RECEPTION — SKYVILLA AT PALMS
Our reception was magical. We stayed in the Palms SkyVilla. It’s 6,000-sq.-ft. with a pool hanging off of the side. We served In-N-Out Burgers and Chronic Tacos, the best reception food ever.
DIY DETAILS + DECOR
My mom made awesome gift baskets to place in everyone’s room when they got to Vegas, it was great.
FAVORITE MEMORY
Honestly, I can’t choose a favorite memory, it was the best day of my life. If I had to choose one it would possibly be twirling under these huge pillars on the Strip with my husband. Just the Strip in general, actually. And of course the fantastic villa with a butler, and having 30 of our closest friends and family there. See, I couldn’t pick just one!
A TIP FOR YOUR VEGAS WEDDING FROM MADI AND TIM
DON’T PLAN. Book a room, get a reservation for where you want to get married…and enjoy the moment. Nothing else needs to be planned. Your wedding should be stress-free, it should only be about love, laughter and happiness. Vegas is the perfect place to get married if you want to have the best wedding ever.
